Recently, the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Tsinghua University School of Medicine and the Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, An article entitled “Rolling coating and transfer printing technology based on the selective adhesion mechanism of semi liquid metals” was published online in Science in China: Materials Science. This work reported for the first time a kind of ultra fast FPC flexible circuit board manufacturing technology with universal significance, which can print large area high-precision complex liquid metal circuits in seconds, much faster than various electronic processing technologies that have been developed so far.
The research team has researched and manufactured a series of FPC flexible and scalable circuit boards, such as multilayer circuits, large area circuits and tensile sensors. The test results show that the corresponding devices have good electrical stability, applicability and recyclability. The implementation of the method created in this paper does not require complex equipment. The FPC flexible circuit board produced can be used in wearable medical devices, which provides a new way to realize personalized medical electronics.
Prior to this, the joint research team composed of Tsinghua University, the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Mengzhimo Company has made a major breakthrough in the exploration of the rapid preparation process of liquid metal flexible electronics, providing new technologies and equipment for the rapid production and manufacturing of wearable medical and personalized electronic health products, which has very far-reaching scientific significance and important application value.
